New Year, New Me!

Almost 2 months of the new year is over...hard to believe! This year I'm going to try to do more for me. Not in a negative way, like I'm forgetting everyone else. But you know girls, you gotta do more for yourselves so you will be better for you family! Now that my boys are 5 & 3, I don't mind going & doing things w/out them. When they were babies, it was hard to leave them. I wanted to cherish those moments. Now that they are older, they can tell some great stories of their "adventures" they went on while I was gone. It's really neat to hear the stories they can come up with. Sometimes I have to fill in the blanks when I'm not sure what they're talking about!
I had my Well Woman in Jan. Since trying for a year & a half to get pregnant(after miscarriage), the dc. decided to do blood work & an ultrasound. They found a cyst on my left ovary(again) that maybe causing some issues. Then I had to have an MRI. New experience for me. And it was a closed MRI, which was ok at first, but then it got hot, I felt like I was spinning. I made it & plan on doing an OPEN MRI the next!! So, we'll see how things progress in the next few months.
Mom just had cataract surgery on her right eye. Things went very well & she'll be having the left eye done on Feb. 28th. Mom was really nervous about it. But she was made it through! Other than that, mom is doing great! Dad is doing good too. Just before Christmas last yr, he had 16 teeth pulled & now has dentures. He has lost a lot of weight because of it too! Not the best weight lose program though!:0)
We are all doing good too. The boys are now 5 & 3. Joel will start school this fall. Makes me really realize how fast time really does fly! It seems like he was just a baby. Now he's counting to 60! Both the boys have been to the dentist
I've been selling Avon for 2 yrs now & enjoying it. We are getting a house fixed up so we can put the Auction business & my Avon business there & get it out of the house!! I can't wait to get things spread out & be able to do more!

God is Good! Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Easter

Sorry I haven't blogged in awhile. Things are going great, just really busy. Mom is doing wonderful. Let's just pray that she continues to do wonderful. All of us are doing good. We've all been fighting the affects of the spring weather....Allergies! Jason & both the boys have had it. Running & stuffy at the same time. I'm still dealing with the stuffy from time to time. Some days are good others, I can't even breath. I'm one of those people that like to breath through their nose not their mouth.
I love the spring & the longer days of daylight! That means my boys can go outside & me too!:0) The best about being outside is that it wears the boys down! Which means they take wonderful naps & sleep longer at night...which means I get to sleep in too!:0) When spring arrives, there is so much that we can do & places we can go that we couldn't do in the winter. A couple of weeks ago we went for a walk along a creek just below our house. That was cool! The creek was up & really running. I love to hear the sound of rushing waters. When it rains alot, I mean alot, the creek rises & really gets flowing, I can hear it rushing from my front porch! Now that is cool!

Have a Blessed Easter Everyone!

Mom's progress

Mom seems to be doing really good. Her surgery was a week ago. She's been out shopping with dad. She's been to church. And she's even driving herself to the doctor's tomorrow! This appt. is a follow up from her surgery. Mom's not really seeing the dc. She is seeing a nurse the specializes in defibrillators. The nurse will be removing the bandage. Which mom is really happy about because it's been hard for her to take a shower w/out trying to get the bandage wet! Plus, it's been really itching her.
So, over all, mom is doing really good!!! Let's just pray that she continues to improve & get stronger! Now mom's next thing is to get her tooth taken care of, then have a yard sale, then go to Branson in May!! I think she can do it!!! Mom has come this far, she sure the heck ain't slowing down now!

This is cool. I've had this for about a month. I only bought one set just to try at home, to see how well they worked. And boy did they work! I mainly got it for my 2 yr old who has trouble drinking out of a water/soda bottle. He always seem to want a drink out of my bottle while I was driving. This really helps. I can now give my 2 yr old a drink out of the bottle when I'm driving, knowing that he won't be spilling it all over him. Of course, I don't put it on while I'm driving! Since I only had one set, my 4 yr old wanted to try it too. So, now I'm back to buy 2 more sets! I just stick'em in a ziplock bag & toss'em in my truck & there are no worries if we get something to drink in a bottle. I know that I have these & there'll be no mess! It also comes with instructions on how to use them. How hard is it to read instructions & use them right? Anyway, I love them!

Mom is home

Sorry there was no blog yesterday. I don't have internet service w/my laptop yet, so I can travel with it just yet. Anyway.....
Mom's surgery took about 3 & 1/2 hrs. Longer than was expected. They were having some trouble with 1 of the old leads. The lead had alot of scare tissue around it, so they couldn't remove it without doing more damage. So they capped the lead off & put in the new one. In one spot they were only able to go about half from where they wanted to be, but it will do it's job. I had talked to dad about 7 pm last night & he said mom was up & her supper was there, but she was in alot of pain! That was in part because of the problems they encountered while to the surgery. I guess I would be in alot of pain if they were working in about a 3 in cut!
So, as of 5:30 this evening, I still hadn't heard anything. I call dad's cell phone, he answers & then gives the phone to mom! That was good to hear her voice. Mom said she was still in alot of pain. Her left arm was in a sling. Mom couldn't remember being in a sling back in June, but I remembered her being in one.
So, over all, mom was doing good. The paddle test they do to check the defibrillator, worked! So she was all clear to go home. Now just to get through the pain & prayerfully she'll do great!

What a Week-end

Mom & dad came down this week-end! What fun. I don't think the boys ever stopped talking. We've been up there to see them, but it's been since December that they have been down here. So the boys had alot to share with them. The boys were so excited that Nana & Pepaw were here. We didn't do much. Mom & dad came down Friday evening. We went out to eat & came home. Saturday, Jason had an auction. The boys got to go outside Saturday morning...which was wonderful.
After the auction was over, we went to Fredericktown & ate supper with Jason & his parents. Today we went to church, had lunch & then mom & dad went home. So, a very calm week-end. Mom did pretty good. Since she was last in the hospital, the doctors have taken her off some of her arthritis medicine, which has made her be in more pain. But, her kidney's are doing so much better since she has been off those meds. So, she has to deal with arthritis pain, in order for her kidney's to do well. So, it's good & bad. But over all, mom had a wonderful week-end with her "boys". I just wish the week-end was alittle bit longer! Anytime they come down, I always have a "Daddy to do list" for dad! Which he doesn't mind & Jason loves it. Jason knows that he's not the fixer kind of guy, so when dad comes down, he knows things are going to get fix the right way!
Mom is having her surgery this week, on Wednesday @ 1 pm. I think it's just going to be me & the boys going up. Jason doesn't mind going, but he has some appraisals he needs to get finished up. So he's thinking he might stay home & get those done. No biggy. He's your typical guy who doesn't like to sit at a hospital! I still love him.:) After mom has her surgery, I'll let everyone know how things went.

Down in the Country!

Mom & dad FINALLY made it down here to Marquand! It's been almost 3 months since they have been down. Since they've been here, the boys have been NON STOP talking. But I guess that's a good thing since they have been down in awhile, you might have alot to say too!:) We've been up there to visit, but before she went into the hospital, it was really hard to visit with her. Now, it's great! It's just like normal. Talking, laughing, playing w/the boys, & really enjoying the boys! It's so nice to have mom back!!! And dad too!!
